About Us

Our History

Founded in 1997, Mineral Springs UMC Preschool is a Christian-based program only a short drive from Waxhaw and Wesley Chapel. The staff is known for “loving our students into learning.” Two, three, and four day programs are available for students ages ranging from 2-4 years old as well as a transitional kindergarten. The school is in session from 9:00 AM to noon with an optional Lunch Bunch program until 1:00 PM.

Our Mission

The mission of Mineral Springs UMC Preschool is to offer an experience where the children grow in faith, knowledge, family, and friends.

Meet the Director: Margaret Worley

Margaret has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from UNC-Greensboro with a major in Home Economics Education. Her teaching career began at Marshville Elementary but the majority of her 31 years of public school teaching were at Parkwood High School where her teaching responsibilities focused on Parenting and Child Development and Child Care Services.

In 2004, she retired from UCPS and by 2007 was beginning to play a responsible role in the life of Mineral Springs Preschool.   As the Director, she strives to lead the preschool in new, innovative directions, enjoys the opportunity to teach the chapel lessons to all the classes and the daily interaction with the students and their families.

Natives of Union County, she and her husband John have three adult children, Beth, Anna and Buck, and four grandsons who are their pride and joy.  Gardening, cooking and working on home projects are her pastimes, as well as, active membership in Mineral Springs UMC.

Mineral Springs UMC Preschool

where we grow in…

Faith

Daily prayers and blessings, Biblical teachings (such as the Fruits of the Spirit) and chapel activities (such as role-playing Palm Sunday) are a few of the ways we grow in our faith.

Knowledge

Exploring with hands-on learning, A Beka curriculum including games and songs, and group table work using A Beka concepts are a few of the ways we grow in knowledge.

Family

Parades, parental involvement in our Fall Festival, and pasties with parents are a few ways we grow with our school families.

Friends

Team building, building friendships and memories by sharing and taking turns, and creative play are a few of the ways we grow and create new friendships.
